The Future

Alibaba Foods has its sights set on great things. Whilst the Company is focused on growing its existing business through its current product range, we also plan to expand our business through the introduction of new innovative products. In the medium term Alibaba Foods has its eye on international markets and plans are also in motion to launch Alibaba Foods retail outlets.

Our People

We consider our people to be one of the most valuable facets of our business. We believe that a company is only as strong as its people.  We pride ourselves in having a dedicated, empowered, motivated and committed group of individuals who make up the engine room of our business. In turn our company is committed to recognize and reward its people. It is gratifying therefore that many members of staff in our group have been with us since our inception. Dedicated personnel are the key to the maintenance of quality and service which runs through the entire organisation.

From a staff complement of 20 in 1976, our company today employs in excess of 200 staff members.

Empowerment

Alibaba Foods is a true empowerment success story.

All the shareholders, directors and management are from a previously disadvantaged background. The company has since its inception been committed to the development and training of individuals from within the business to occupy supervisory and management positions.

Alibabaís commitment to empowerment extends beyond empowering our staff and we strive to ensure that as much of our procurement is done from BEE enterprises. To this end we pride ourselves on providing a medium whereby smaller suppliers are able to benefit from our links to national retailers allowing them to play a role in mainstream retail markets.

Our Employment Equity views and policy also reflects our philosophy of empowerment and development.
